Welcome

Bloody Echoes is an AU Urban fantasy site set in modern day London. Inspiration has been taken from various myths and fantasy genres. A sandbox roleplay, with a casual backdrop to allow character and member driven plots.

Bloody Echoes is a diverse, and welcoming forum for characters and players of all gender identities, sexualities and ethnicities. London is a multi cultural city and diverse characters from all walks of life are encouraged and welcomed.

On the right hand side, you will find the Navigation to each segment of the guidebook. Each link on this guidebook holds multiple pages, accessible through the tabs at the top. We have broken down the information into separate tabs to allow to ease of use, and location for existing members to quickly look up what they need.

Out of the closet

January 2000. Everything changed. The supernatural world came out of the proverbial closet. Mankind went from thinking it was the apex predator to finding out Vampires, lycanthropes, magic and monsters are real. It was not an easy transition. Many supernatural creatures were hunted, not protected by the laws of the countries they were in. That all changed on October 17th 2003. The European Vampire council successfully petitioned and gained equal rights for Vampires in the UK. Other countries soon followed. Vampires can now own property, vote, work, get married and have the same legal protections as everyone else.

The same luck did not befall the lycanthropes. The disease prevention bill was passed in 2008. While lycanthropes have basic rights, they still can be shot and killed on sight if anyone feels they are a danger. If a lycanthrope is found to have infected another, it is a death sentence. The UK is seemingly okay with vampires, but the disease prevention bill serves to subtly eradicate lycanthropes.

This likely has something to do with the vast amount of wealth and power the vampire council has. The Uk has crawled out of debt, cost of living is easier and it now boasts one of the most healthy economy's of the world. It doesn't take a genius to know Vampires have something to do with it.

London, modern day

London never sleeps. The central hub in the UK for all things supernatural, London is home to one of the largest Vampire Clutches in the world.

In the decades since the supernatural came out of the closet and made their presence known to the world, London's species-diverse population has boomed. Vampires, shifters, werewolves, and gifted humans all flock to London.

So, come and visit London. You may get eaten... or vanish. Be sure to send your loved ones a post card.

Bloody Echoes is a lore based roleplay forum focussed on member driven plots. Members absolutely can change the shape of the world by their characters actions. We are a fully affirming and inclusive forum, for members over the age of 21. We have a zero tolerance policy for any form of bigotry, or hatred. This includes religious bigotry. We have a firm stance on white washing and when members use face claims, that the face matches the ethnicity of the character.

A history of key supernatural events shaping the world.

Ancient Era - The Fade Begins

The Decline of the Old Gods: As Abrahamic religions spread across the mortal realm, belief in the old pantheons dwindled. With fewer worshippers, many gods **began to fade from existence**, their realms collapsing into nothingness.

End Century AD - The Council

To unify the vampires and prevent the growing human population all becoming hunters, Lilith created the Council. Over the century their power over the vampire population grew.

1700s - The First Reawakenings

The Gods Begin to Return: Some gods began to **reappear**, awake for the first time in aeons. Their realms **slowly reformed**, as witches and gifted humans once again took them as patrons of their gifts.

Victorian Era (Mid-1800s)

The Fae Abandon the Human World: As Christianity spread and industrial pollution poisoned the rivers, the Fae severed ties with humanity. By the end of the Victorian era, they had withdrawn entirely, sealing most doorways between the two realms. Only a few remained, allowing trooping Fae and wanderers to pass through in secret.

1924

The Death of Lilith: The Vampire Council executed Lilith after she attempted to eradicate humanity. Many vampires perished or went insane from her death.

Vlad the Impaler Joins the Vampire Council: The Dragon or Dracul bloodline stems from Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Dracula. Vlad became a vampire through a curse, and was not sired. He is the fountainhead of his bloodline and the most unpredictable of the council. He is ruled by his emotions and is the newest member of the vampire council after the council turned on Lilith and killed her. He was the Duke of London before Skarde. Vlad officially joined the council in 1924, leaving the role of Duke vacant.

Skarde Becomes Duke of London: Following Vlad’s ascension to the Vampire Council, Skarde took control of the London Clutch as its new Duke.

Early 1900s - The Gods Continue to Return

More Gods Awaken: Over time, more gods return, though many remain weak due to a lack of widespread worship.

January 2nd, 2000

The Supernatural Reveal: The supernatural world revealed itself. The European Vampire Council made contact with governments across Europe.

October 17th, 2003

Vampires Gain Equal Rights: The European Vampire Council successfully petitioned for and gained equal rights for vampires in the UK. Vampires could now own property, vote, work, marry, and gain legal protections.

2008

Lycanthropy Disease Prevention Bill: The UK government passed laws restricting werewolf rights under the guise of "public health concerns." Werewolves lost protections, could be fired for their status, and were denied land ownership.

2010's - The Gods Are Now More Commonplace

With the rise of social media, fandoms, movies, books, and pagan subcultures, more humans acknowledge the old gods whether actual belief or just talking of them. Though some have been back for centuries, while others are only recently returning.

2010's - Present

Global Recognition: Many countries slowly followed the UK's lead in granting vampire rights, though parts of the Middle East and Africa still refuse to recognize vampires as legal citizens.

June 2024-December 2024

Blood plague: Not common knowledge. The London clutch experience a biological attack resulting in hundreds of vampires being confined in the living death due to a blood plague. Cured and eradicated by the new year.

December 2024

The Fae Return: Pip, a mischievous Pixie, accidentally opens a rift in the London History Museum, tearing the Veil between worlds. This causes Fae doorways to open across the British Isles for the first time in centuries.
