Echoes is a Fae/fantasy Roleplay forum that opened in early February 2024. We are an AU community loosely based on the book series 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' by Sarah J Maas. Our story takes place generally around the time of the first book, before any kind of war with Hybern. However we do not strictly follow the plot or timeline of any of the books directly but only use them as loose inspiration to generate our play. It generally follows a fantasy tone when it comes to buildings and clothing with modern-ish touches like indoor plumbing, heating and lighting that runs on magic.

Our major site wide plot now vibes with just after the first book where the evil Queen has been slain and Prythian is free of her cruelty. We take our own AU Adventure here by bringing back the eighth court - the Dusk court but they're not what you expect!

Fae Fauna

The following are species of Fauna found within the Fae realm of Prythian, above the boundary of the human lands.

In regards to which magical fae fauna are allowed to be used for Spring Born Animal shifters, the following is a list of fae fauna animals you're allowed to use. However NO magical abilities from a fae fauna come with the physical form, it is strictly the physical natural form that the Spring shifter gets (IE the crimera does NOT get the *magical* power that lets them camouflage with the snow and icy terrain.):

ALLOWED: SILVALK, CARMUDGEON, HELLBASK, BOARNAX, ATHERIS, CROCUS-TOAD, RONARA, CRIMERA, FOXMILLA, BANSEI SEAL, BLUE GROTTO, GRAZZO, HORNIX

THE BOGGE

The Bogge (pronounced: Boh-ghi) is a species of lesser faerie who roams the Courts of Prythian and is in the service of the self-proclaimed High Queen of Prythian, Mishanti. Only a High Lord (or Lady) has the power and strength required to destroy the Bogge. The Bogge race was fathered by Lanthys at some point, who was one of the First Gods. Fae will gradually become aware of a malevolent presence nearby when the Bogge approaches and hear it calling to them. Many know not to look at the creature since, once looked upon and acknowledge, the Bogge could become real and kill them - because no one can look upon them without likely dying, no one knows exactly what they actually look like. Refusing to acknowledge the Bogge is the only way to handle it for lesser fae. The Bogge calls to a potential victim, egging them on to look at him. Hissing to them;
'I will grind your bones between my claws; I will drink your marrow; I will feast on your flesh. I am what you fear; I am what you dread... Look at me. Look at me.'
