• OOC Rules

  Echoes is a high fantasy, free from roleplay that has been inspired by the popular book series 'A Court of Thorn and Roses' by Sarah J. Maas (we claim no ownership of those properties). However as creative writers we have taken it upon ourselves to try to make it our own through plotting and writing with our staff and members. We are an alternative universe setting that exists in the same world as the books but does not allow for any of the canon characters from the books to be played.
  
  Echoes is a 3/3/3 rated forum with a premium membership. This means our members should be prepared for all manner of adult content herein. However we do ask that out of courtesy for other players you place any necessary trigger warnings in the beginning of the post to give our members a considerate heads up.

  The OOC Guidelines

  • Civilty and respect is a rule of thumb here. Show and be shown Respect on the forum and in the discord server to every staff, mod and member. You don't have to be best friends with everybody but you must be civil and show respect.If there is any OOC issues please keep it in your DM or PM's and off or out of group chats/boards. Should you need mediation after trying to solve the issue yourselves, the staff team is willing to assist in anyway they can.
  • The staff team reserves the right to make decisions or choices and revoke approvals based on concerns or incidents, IC or OOC as issues may arise. These decisions are made using our best discretion and done for the health of the overall site and community member base as a whole.
  • We have no word count expectation for posts, only ask you try to give enough to the player your writing with to respond to.
  • Threads should be marked with any trigger warnings [TW]
  • Mature threads should be marked with [m] in the topic title.
  • Please change your discord nickname in our server to match your name you joined up with on the forum so theres no confusion.
  • Do not blend OOC and IC. Don't take what happens in character on board to your characters as a personal attack against you as a person. They aren't related.
  • Graphics such as avatars and icons on the forum or in the server should not contain any nudity.
  • Relating to AI Art: While Echoes, as a fantasy community, does not prohibit the use of some AI in profiles and being shared in our media channel, we do restrict the use of a Face claims (a real persons likeness) when it comes to the use of AI art in a NSFW context. Therefore we ask that members do not post any AI generated sexualized/graphic content in their profile or in the NSFW channel. Sexualized AI art generated of a real life persons likeness is made without 'consent' in the simplest of terms and due to this fact alone, we will not allow NSFW AI generated art of face claims and their real life likenesses in our community. Thank you for understanding.

  The Discord Server Guidelines

  • Please read all of our rules and community guidelines thoroughly.
  • Echoes is an 21+ server and there may at times be suggestive language, swearing and other mature conversations in the Discord.
  • Please keep more graphic conversations, content and media - including but not limited to; Sexual content, Gore, Violence ect - to the ⁠nsfw chat. Anything considered as NSFW content by staff that is posted outside of that chat will be deleted and members may be warned. Please see our NSFW chat guidelines in ⁠add-role to agree to all the terms regarding that channel.
  • Hate speech or content of any type will not be tolerated.
  • When it comes to the server, we don't allow for long term 'lurkers'. We ask that everyone in our server be active in our server and on board with at least one character. For this purpose, every few months we will conduct a server clean up of those members that have become inactive on the server. We will attempt to contact you once before removal but if we don't hear back from you, we'll remove you from our server. By doing this it will make the numbers more accurate and reflect the actual activity level of our server properly.
  • Echoes is meant to be a place of Sanctuary and our discord server is meant to be enjoyed and have fun in. As such we ask take any disputes and heated debates into dm to be dealt with in private.
  • Please be sure to match your name on our discord server to the OOC name you sign up with on our JCINK Forum board to avoid confusion.
  • We are an open, inclusive chat server. Please try to speak and interact with everyone so no one feels excluded from our community.
  • Be mindful about not posting any potentially triggering media that has to do with phobias or overly flashing content/graphics as a consideration to others who may suffer from illnesses like epilepsy or phobia based anxieties ect.
• Activity Rules

  Activity Rules

  • Activity checks will happen three times a year, for the four months previous.
  • Activity checks happen during March, July & November.
  • High Lords/Ladies will be required to post at least three times a month (12 posts in four months total)
  • Upon making a High Lord/Lady, you must make 1 post within a week of approval to ensure activity for them is started.
  • OC characters will be expected to maintain a two post per month minimum (8 posts in four months).
  • Posts should be spread out through those four months and not done in all one month.
  • Being inactive without a single posts for two months straight will be a failed AC
• Creation Rules

  Character Creation Guidelines

  • The basic account everyone on Echoes should start with is their OOC account. This first account will be your parent account from which all your sub-accounts will be connected to.
  • Character accounts should be registered in proper capitalization with first and last names (if they have both). No nicknames, abbreviations, middle names or weird characters. This includes using the underscore symbol or period dot in between names.
  • All PC characters must be 18 years old or older.
  • All Face Claims you use must be 18 years old or older
  • We do not allow for the use of deceased face claims. If your fc becomes deceased during use, you will be asked to change out of respect.
  • Face claims must be well known faces with a large amount of followers, a willing model/consenting celebrity/public face of some kind and have a lot of google search results. Questionable submissions are determined at staff discretion.
  • You can make up to seven characters without any limitations. After you made your seventh, all characters will be required to have 10 posts before you may make a eighth and so on.
  • You may only use a skip post requirement purchase once per 30 days.
  • You may only be going through approval process for one character at a time.
  • You may only hold two face claim reservation at a time and the character your going through approval process will count as a reserve until it is approved.
  • If you are NOT consistently being active with each of your characters, staff may temporarily pause your character making abilities until you can keep up with your post load before returning your ability to create new ones.
  • Echoes does not allow for duplicate name use. Please be sure to double check the current list of active names (we recommend checking the face claim list) for current names in use and select one outside of those currently being used. If there is a duplication, the newer character created will be asked to change their name as it is a 'first come first serve' basis with names.
  • No one member may hold more than two inner circle positions within the same court. Nor should they hold two of the same position throughout the different courts without special permission from staff and will only be considered under special circumstance.
  • You may not claim more than two of a single type of rare fae (Shadowsingers, Daemati, Seers etc) and they may not be from the same court The only exception to this is Cauldron/Made characters as they are expensive and do not count toward any set limits.

• IC Rules

  IN Character (IC) Guidelines

  • Echoes does not allow for powergaming/powermodding on the site. The act of auto striking/hitting/dodging ect in a fight situation should not be assumed and always written in the form of an attempt. This means instead of saying 'he reaches out and grabs him' you should include 'tries' or 'attempts' in the attack. 'he TRIES to reach out and grab him'. Your post should not go much further than this point to allow your opponent and the other player the opportunity to RESPOND to your attempts.
  • As a mature, adult site we expect that no metagaming will occur in threads. This is the act of taking OOC information you character IC has no means of knowing and pretending that they do. Use only info given to your character readily on board and in canon and not information given to you OOC by any means.
  • Posts should be written in third person and in past tense NOT first person, past tense. That means use "He saw her" and NOT "I saw her" or "He see's her".
  • Threads that involve characters fighting should be discussed OOC before beginning it to know where the fight will lead, who will win and how the thread is progressed. Whether the winner is determined by the two players or dice rolls ect is up to the members but again, should be determined before a known fight thread is even started.Any IC fights that cause OOC disagreements, will be deemed null and void from canon.
  • IC action equates to IC consequences. Please be aware anything your character does may have consequences that you should act out or that the staff will make you aware of if necessary that you will have to deal with.
  • Mark finished threads with [fin] in the topic.
  • Mark mature threads with [m] in the topic.
  • If there are trigger warnings for your post, put it at the top of the post in a header [h1][/h1]
• BOOST Rewards

  Discord Server Boost Rewards

  As a way to say Thank you to our members who do Boost our Discord server, we have decided to award Boosts with Skill bar points. How it works is simple;

  • Every boost gets 50 points to put toward one character.
  • A character may only be given boost reward points once. Each boost must be put toward different characters.
  • Open a Mod Ticket in the #moderation-help channel to claim your Boost points.
