The Mortal Lands
Once upon a time, both species of the world lived together - albeit not peacefully. It was a time when the mortal were slaves to the Fae and lived a little more than 'property' under their rule. Eventually, the Mortals grew tired of their miserable lives and a war broke out. As a measure to eventually find peace, a treaty was signed by both the Mortals and Fae alike, and thus the magical barrier known as 'the wall' was established.
When the treaty was signed, the reigning Mortal Queens were entrused with half of the Book of Breathings. A powerful grimoire that contains spells of many things but included a way to take away the power of the Cauldron - a powerful, God-like item that had great abilities, including potentially destroying the wall. Starting a new war to re-enslave the Mortals.
So the land was divided and the most southern regions of Prythian and the Continent were left to the mortal humans and the central and southerns Regions were left to the Fae. However, the humans were left with destroyed and ruined lines. Where it is a struggle to maintain healthy crops and live a good life unless you're one of the few rich and wealthy. So many of the mortals began to despise the Fae, believing it was their fault for living them with so little in the ways of providing for themselves. Doing anything to keep them away and out of the Mortal Lands despite the fact there are still wicked Faeries that sneak across the wall and attack villages closest to it.
However there are those known as the Children of the Blessed that believe the Fae have done nothing wrong and worship them. They travel the Mortal Lands, sharing their 'beliefs' and trying to convert people to their lifestyle. These Children of the Blessed are poorly regarded within most villages/towns/cities and most humans consider them foolish, fanatics with a death wish.
Among the humans that live South of the wall, beneath Prythian, the majority of people live scattered among small villages and settlements - such as Greenfield. Made up of poor, working class or lower class people struggling to get by and finding it difficult to cloth and feed their families. The majority of the Mortal lands live in the lower class regions and in poverty. Though there are a few larger, bustling cities - such as Everreach City - that contain a rarer 'upper class' among the human communities too. Those that are fortunate enough to have a means of sustaining wealth, often live in the bustling Mortal cities. Where they are often safer from Fae threats and can lavish in the spoils of their riches. Here in the wealthy cities you will find such spoils as fine silk fabrics, high end spices, market squares selling varieties of food and trading vendors looking to buy and sell their wares.
The largest mortal Kingdoms lay upon what is known as 'The Continent'. The place where six mortal Queens rule the land. The mortal lands located on Pyrthian, south of the wall, is still considered 'their' territory.
