Echoes is a Fae/fantasy Roleplay forum that opened in early February 2024. We are an AU community loosely based on the book series 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' by Sarah J Maas. Our story takes place generally around the time of the first book, before any kind of war with Hybern. However we do not strictly follow the plot or timeline of any of the books directly but only use them as loose inspiration to generate our play. It generally follows a fantasy tone when it comes to buildings and clothing with modern-ish touches like indoor plumbing, heating and lighting that runs on magic.

Our major site wide plot now vibes with just after the first book where the evil Queen has been slain and Prythian is free of her cruelty. We take our own AU Adventure here by bringing back the eighth court - the Dusk court but they're not what you expect!

Fae Courts

  • The Seven Fae Courts

Though the world in which ACOTAR takes place is much larger than just Prythian, the main area of our own play and writing currently takes place on the contintent of Prythian. Prythian is made up of seven courts and the Human lands to the South of them all. The most Northern parts of Prythian are the Solar courts, made up of the Night, Day and Dawn courts. Then the seasonal courts of run from the middle to the southern part of Prythian ranging from Winter, Summer, Autum and Spring that borders closest to the human realm south of the wall.

Up in the regions of the solar courts, the seasons of years and time move as expected. Ranging from Spring to Winter seasons with your typical boughts of rain, sunshine or snow throughout depending on which time of year it is. Unlike the more northern courts however, the seasonal courts enjoy that of their courts namesake 'qualities' year-round. The winter court is always snow covered. There's always sunshine in the summer court. Spring hails the fresh blooms and the sweetest rains and Autumn boast the most vivid colour of leaves, temperate weather with crisp fall breezes. Thus the seasonal courts are always best prepared to deal with the types of weather their claimed season boasts year-round.

All courts are rules according to their High RUlers (Lord or Lady) but most court have the following positions within their ranks; High Lord, Court Overseer (2nd in command), Advisor, War General, Emissary & Spymaster. These positions are followed by less powerful positions that fill a High Lords court with other skilled members and servants.

The power of High Lord passes down his bloodline upon the time of his death. It does not guarantee going to his oldest male heir but rather the magic detects the 'strongest' heir and it goes to him. Thus why there is such horrible competitions between siblings in some of the Courts. Wanting to snuff out their competition before the magic passes along. If a High Lord doesn't have a son, the power goes to his strongest living male family member. Most often a sibling but could also be an uncle or cousin etc.

There have been no 'High Ladies' made in our worlds history as yet. It is allowed, if a High Lord is willing to share his mantle of power but this should be discussed with staff before being played out on the board.

    Lore Court Titles

    High Ruler Titles

    • **High Lord / High Lady / High Ruler**
These are the formal governing titles of the individual who *rules* over a court.
    • **King / Queen**
These titles are unofficial and *symbolic* in nature. While often used conversationally or ceremonially to express significance or dominance, they do *not* carry formal political weight within the established hierarchy.
    • **Lord [Court Name] / Lady [Court Name]**
(e.g., Lady Winter, Lord Summer, etc)
This is a less formal but still honorary title used to refer to a High Ruler, acknowledging their leadership over their respective court.

    Consort Titles

    • **Lord Consort / Lady Consort**
These are the formal honorary titles granted to a High Ruler(s)’s legally bound mate(s) or spouse(s). To receive this title, a public bonding ceremony must be performed by a High Priestess. This title signifies union with the High Ruler but does not imply *shared* rulership or sovereign power.

    Royal Titles

    • **Prince / Princess of [Court Name]**
(e.g., Princess Celestra; Prince Emrys; etc)
This title can be used in two specific ways:
      1. __By Bloodline:__
A formal royal title for direct blood relatives of a High Ruler who are born of that court’s magic. These individuals may be in line for succession and are regarded as part of the court’s ruling lineage.
      2. __By Honorary Designation:__
An honorary title granted to fae who have married into a ruling family or to blood relatives of a High Ruler who are born of *another court’s* magic. These individuals are *not* eligible for succession but are still considered part of the court’s upper noble class.

  • Spring Court Information

    Current High Lord: MAAHES IBIS

    • SPRING COURT High Faes inherit SHAPE SHIFTING or PLANT MAGIC as their power.
Shape-shifting is the ability to transform your physical body into another animal form. Bears, wolves, Fox's, Deer's etc. They are also allowed to do partial shifts of body parts like teeth, claws, eyes, tongues etc. In regards to which magical fae fauna are allowed to be used for Spring Born Animal shifters, the following is a list of fae fauna animals you're allowed to use. However NO magical abilities from a fae fauna come with the physical form, it is strictly the physical natural form that the Spring shifter gets (IE the crimera does NOT get the magical power that lets them camouflage with the snow and icy terrain.):

ALLOWED: SILVALK, CARMUDGEON, HELLBASK, BOARNAX, ATHERIS, CROCUS-TOAD, RONARA, CRIMERA, FOXMILLA, BANSEI SEAL, BLUE GROTTO, GRAZZO, HORNIX
Plant magic is the ability to manage, manipulate and grow plants. Whether its taking a seed and excelling its growth rate or using vines as sharp and deadly weapons.

The Spring Courts lands are a vast rolling green land, rich with vibrant spring buds, flowers and aromas but it has so much more than just that to offer. It's green gardens are some of the most majestic, with trees towering hundreds of feet tall. Their lands are filled with vivid flowers and plant types of all colours and their lakes are sparkling, deep blue.

The Spring Court also borders the location of the boundary line, the former magical 'Wall' that separates Prythian from the Mortal Realm. To the north of the Spring Court is the Summer Court and the Autumn Court.

The Spring court has no monumental cities or vast 'empire' buildings. Its people are spread throughout its boundaries inside of settlements and villages of various sizes. Many of these villages are very nature based in builds. Looking more like log cabins or smials, underground homes found in hillsides, downs, and banks. It is said there are those villages that are even built within the confines of great tree root and branches in some of the forests.

The Spring courts people range from High Fae to numerous species of lesser Fae. Many of which thrive in elements of nature in one way or another. These can range from Water Nymphs, Gnomes, Selkies, Dryads, Water-Wraiths and more (Including more dangerous types such as the Naga).

Fae born within the Spring court tend to lean toward various magic types most related to nature. Whether its talking to animals, making plants bloom or making things wither and decay. Most High Fae will also have the special ability to shape shift into a singular animal type as well. Usually in the form of forest animals such as deer, wolves, foxes, Owl and other larger creatures. The High Lord himself has the ability to shift into a sort of horned, hyrbid creature of immense strength and power. The Spring Court currently continues to enact upon its Biannual tithe. Though some see the practice as archaic, the High Lord has its people pay a forced tribute to the Spring Court twice a year. Though there is whispers over the fact that the current High Lord might be 'suspending' it indefinitely but that remains to be seen.

Places & Locations in the Spring Court:

    • Eden Estate (Throne & Home to High Lord)
    • Nesenia Village
  • Summer Court Information

    Current High Lord: SOL PYRE

    • SUMMER COURT High Faes inherit WATER or AURA READING as their 'main' power.
Water magic is the ability to wield water in many facets. As a weapon, a shield or cleansing ect. How its used is unique to each Fae.
Aura Reading is, when a High Fae focuses on a person, the ability to discern the feelings of others through colour auras that appear around their physical being. They can tell if someone is mad, sad, anxious ect. However they cannot discern any types of thoughts surrounding those feelings. They cannot tell why the person might be mad, just that they are mad.

With the coastline to its west and the Autumn Court border to its east, the Summer Court sits North-West of the Spring Courts boundaries. It is known for its white coastal beaches, bright shining waters, lush green forest lands and luxuriously warm climates that never change. It is the Sunshine Court of Prythian and it's people live in a tropical like bliss year-round.

The shining jewel of the Summer Court is none other than the city of Adriata. Here, the city is nestled between the crescent moon shaped bay that's open mouth reaches into the sea and the mountain-island itself. Yet high above on the Island is the home of the High Lord and his family themselves, the Ocean Palace. It is a bright beacon of pride among the residents of the Summer Court and a beautiful sight to behold.

Unlike the Spring Court, the Summer Court boasts many large sea-side cities and port towns that sail in the world of wealth and trade to their people. The numerous amounts of city and towns speaks volume of the Summer Courts blessings. All of which are home to the Summer Courts naval forces that protect its seaside borders with its vast number of ships and well trained sailors.

Although the Summer Court is rich in the abundance of sunny weather and beautiful beach filled days, it is also known for the plethora of riches it has within its holdings. Whether its from the likes of Noble Fae families or the smuggling of Pirates, the Summer Court is wealthy beyond dreams. Everything from jewels, weapons, rare artifacts, precious metals and tomes of long times past. All residing within the warded, magical vaults of the Ocean palace or on the shelves of local vendors offering up on 'the best' in trade. Which is also why the wealthy Court also uses Blood Rubies as a death mark. As they serve as the mark of a Death Warrant to any who receive them.

Many, many types of Fae (High Fae and Lesser Fae alike) live within the boundaries of the Summer court and those that are born within it almost always have some small affinity to wield water magically. The various strength of the magics depends upon the powers a Fae is capable to hold within themselves. Some needing a resource of water somewhere in the surrounding area to wield their power while others can pull water from the air or rain and create the source themselves. The extent of these water based powers are unlimited and each Fae is a little bit different from the next in how they are uniquely used.

    • AUTUMN COURT High Faes inherit FIRE or RUNE MAGIC as their 'main' power.
Fire magic is the manifestation of the element fire in different facets. Some use the fire to shield/barrier and defend. Other use it as an offensive attack. How its used is open to the wielder.
Rune magic is the very specific ability to pull strands of magic and weave them into mystical runes or geometric patters and symbols for a precise purpose and set that magical rune into an object for either immediate work or usage at a later date. Most items imbued with Rune magic are temporary and require 'recharging' after various lengths of time dependent on the magic weilders strength and its purpose. Runes need to be learned and in the Autumn court most basic runes like 'protection shields', 'fire', 'lock/unlock' runes are all taught throughout adolescents. The more elaborate the rune usage the more power required. All multiple use runes require to be re-engergized/imbued (typically once a week or once a month) when the magic the rune is holding fades. Characters may use basic traditional runes like unloock/locking, warrming, cooling under the general rune use but any bigger mroe complex rune 'inventions' are considered 'add-on' unique powers and need to be written up as a separate unique power as an extension of the ability and approved by staff. Magic bar levell will be considered for how intense an add on rune item is.

The boundaries of the Autumn Court are set north of the Spring court, West of the Summer Court and along the eastern sea coast. It is a place of great bounty and exuberant beauty but is also considered one of the most vicious and cut throat Courts that exist. It is called the Court of Foxes for how cunning and conniving they say its citizens are - especially its ruling family, are. It is highly competitive, where brother is put against brother and its Noble court are filled with 'beasts' just as wild and dangerous as the ones that lurk within its forests.

However, the Autumn court is also known as the Harvest court. Known for its bountiful farmlands and the crops they yield. Here in such places do the people of the Autumn court, live, eat and breath. Mostly High Fae families own the largest, most supple farm lands available and hire lesser fae as the grunt workers. Farmlands and villages that are speckled and stretched between forest boundaries and wild rivers and streams.

The heart of the Autumn court is the place of the High Lord and his family, known as the Forest House. Though it's called a 'house' it is in all actuallity a massive fortress keep that has been built into the surrounding trees and rock and cliff side mountain. All of which only the highest levels are visible above ground. The rest are buried and built underground as the hallways tunnel into the stone itself. Some people insist that just walking from one end of the 'Forest house' to the other end might take you half the morning. It is built into a cliff face lined with autumn colour trees and buried deep into the side of the mountain. It is a highly fortified and enormous keep. Keeping the family within safe and stopping anyone from entering without notice first.

In the Autumn court it is common that many of the High Fae have the ability to wield fire powers through their magic. It is an impressive, intimidating feat - as they cannot be burned by their own flames or anothers if they're powerful enough. Some use fire as merely a weapon. Using fire bolt blasts as their way to manifest their power. Other use their healing to cleanse or purify (a sort of unique healing ability) and some use it defensively, like shields. To defend themselves, their people or places they love. How a High Fae uses the ability to use their fire is unique to themselves and the level of its power varies on the extent of the Faes bloodline and capabilities themselves.

  • Winter Court Information

    Current High Lady: SEVYN THORNE

    • WINTER COURT High Faes inherit ICE or ANIMAL IMITATION as their 'main' power.
Ice Magic is the ability to wield frozen water (Ice/snow) and use it as shields, weapons and more. How it manifests is unique to each Fae with the ability.
Animal imitation is a type of magic that allows the user to mimic the abilities, traits, and behaviour of animals. It does not alter the physical body in anyway. The Fae can imitate animal traits from within the Winter court; they can have brute strength of a polar bear, agility of a snow leopard, sure-footedness of a mountain goat, camaflouge of a snowshoe hare and swim like a seal. They may only imitate one power from one animal at a time.

The stretch of the Winter court expands the full width of Prythian. From the Western sea coast to the Eastern. With the Autumn and summer courts below them to the south and the place only known as 'The middle' above them to the North. The land is formed of icy grey cliffs and snow covered valleys, peppered with dense evergreen forests. Made up of towering, exquisite places, abundant with the firelight of roaring hearths filling it with ambience.

Due to its snowy tundras and icy fields, the favourite method of transportation for those who can't fly or Winnow is Carved sleighs drawn by velvet-antlered reindeer whose splayed hooves are ideal the terrain. Foxes are often used as couriers. Wildlife are trained as armed forces (large wolves, white bears and reindeer). These wild creatures serving as sentries to the Winter Courts realm, as they stalk its territory and protect its borders.

Known to have a certain 'look' to them, the High Fae of the Winter court have snow-white or black as night hair. Their skin ranging from pale moon hues to rich, lush browns. Lesser Fae have no specific features that need to be followed. For clothes, due to the climate, they most often wear fur-lined clothing to help maintain their body temperatures properly. The Lesser Fae of the court are plentiful but often don't have the similar features as the High Fae. They tend to wear fur-lined clothing. Their court has many species of Lesser Fae.

Due to the fact the Winter Court is such a harsh terrain to live within, their city and villages are few and far between. Their capital, the city of Polaris, being the largest of them and host to the Wintry fortress walls and palace within. Where the large, radiant Winter Courtyard hosts the annual Winter Solstice event during their time of celebration. Most of their buildings are made of ice and snow and are magically enchanted with hearths and lights to help keep in the warmth. Evergreen garlands and wreaths decorate much of the homes of the Winter Courts people.

As a people, the Winter Court Faes tend to have the ability to control ice, snow and wind. Some of which are capable of pulling it from within themselves and others that require nearby sources to pull from. It is considered a winter wonderland of great beauty and even greater perils. Welcoming to those of a friendly nature but hazardous to all others. The Crystal fortress is large and spelled for additional warmth above and beyond the fires in the hearth. It's spanning curtain wall protects the inner buildings that make up everything from the main palace court, offices, soldier barracks and more. The Crystal fortress also has a wintry garden made up of a lovely assortment of every greens, waxy holly shrubs with sparkling red berries and red osier dogwood trees that bare red branches pop against the snowy white. It also contains a winter maze made up of cedar trees that has multiple entrances and is a nice place to take a walk through.

  • Night Court Information

    Current High Lady: NYSSA LANFEAR

    • NIGHT COURT High Faes inherit ILLUSIONS or GRAVITY as their 'main' power.
Illusion magic is the ability to be able to generate illusions/hallucinations that trick the sensory systems of other beings. They can form visually in front of a person - capable of mimicking sight, sounds and smells of things as they exist in the world. They can not be physically touched. A hand will pass right through them but the mental fortitude of a person will dictate whether or not they have the will to even try.
Gravity powers is NOT to be used at a world/large scale level. It is at a much much smaller, personal scale. Making one able to affect the gravity under a person or twos feet to hold them in place (maybe ten at most for the more powerful magic users), to create a concussive blast of gravitational energy that blasts people away or to use it to pull people and objects in or to collapse objects, items or, for the strongest wielders, pull buildings down on themselves etc. The magic skill bar determines how potent this power is. "

The Night court is located perched in a frozen mountainous spread of darkness and stars. A sprawling, massive territory located in the northern most reach of Prythian. Bordered to the West, North and East sides with the oceans and then bordered to the south by the Day Court. Its magic is tied to the stars and the night sky. The Night Court is a place of shadows and secrets, where nothing is as it seems. To the outside world it appears as wild, wicked and unwelcoming. The reputation of the Notorious Hewn City, located deep under the mountains, is said to be a place of great terrors and torment. Hence why the Throne and the 'heart' of its people is called 'The Court of Nightmares' by all. The location that is, to all other courts, said to be the 'Capital' of the NIght Court and the home of the High Lord.

However, there is a SECRET CITY, hidden place known as the Court of Dreams. Also known as the City of Velaris. Where the High Lord of the Night court has secretly helped maintain and keep a city of great vibrancy and joy a secret from all of the outside world. Those who dwell within Velaris do not speak of it to outsiders, knowing its survival depends upon the city remaining hidden - even from those within the Hewn City. The City of Dreams is hidden by poweful wards that keep it glamoured out of sight and secure. The warded walls of Velaris have not been breached in over five thousand years.

    Regions of the Night Court

    THE SECRET CITY OF VELARIS
Within Velarios there is a broad winding river through it, the color of deep Saphire, known as the Sidra River. It carves through the landscape and into the sea. It's waterway navigable by the likes of many ships. At the Northern edge, where the river bends into the city, it flows into its Shadows and towers that loom over the city like guardians against a wall of flat topped red stone. The middle of the mountains and largest peak has holes and windows peering out the uppermost part of it. This is known as the house of Wind and serves as the Seat to the HIgh Lord and where the members of the COurt of Dreams gather. To the north are different mountains that encircle the city along the rivers edge and are a range of various heights and sharp peaks.

The Buildings builting within the city are made up of white marble, warm sandstone and the same red stone of the mountain ranges the house of Wind is nestled in. Many quarters of Velaris are full of townhouses with green copper roofs and white chimneys. A variety of many shops can be found through the city. Filled with shops, restaurants and taverns filled with entertainment. It has four market squares that are referred to as 'Palaces'. Two on the south side of the Sidra River and two on the North side. The Southern Palaces are called the Palace of Thread and Jewels and the Palace of Bone and Salt. Known to sell jewels and food. On the North side is the Palace of Hoof and Leaf positioned across the River to the Palace of Bone and Salt. THere is also an Artists quarter known as the Rainbow of Verlaris. Home to many performing artists, art galleries, supply stores, potters compounds, sculpture gardens and more. There is one large golden topped theatre and a few smaller theaters and amphitheaters. It is brightly painted and located right near the rivers edge.

THE COURT OF NIGHTMARES - THE HEWN CITY
The Hewn City, also known as the Court of Nightmares, is one of the two main cities of the Night Court of Prythian. It's located under the mountains of the Night Court and is considered publicly as the domain of High Lord. It is a true city under the mountain made up of avenues, separate buildings with spires, homes and even bridges. A dark and twisted metropolis carved from the dark stone of the mountains. Each and every surface carved with hideous - yet strikingly beautiful - artworks of figures dancing, fornicating, begging and revelling. Pillars are carved to look like strangling curling vines of night-blooming flowers. Little streams and rivers wind through the city, tapped into from the heart of the mountain itself. The dark, dimly lit ambience is peppered with silvery bobbing faelights throughout.

At the core of the Hewn city, there is a castle inside the mountain where the official seat of the HIgh Lord is located. Said to be the home of The Darkbringers, the name of Night Courts elite warriors. The gates surrounding the castle are carved into scaled black beasts coiling together in horrific nests of claws and fangs. Sleeping, fighting or devouring each other. Upon which flowing, contrasting vines of jasmine and moon flowers grow. The polished floor of the throne rooms reflect the faces of the beings that stand upon them and the throne is made up of polished ebony surfaces. Like guardians, more of the beasts are carved into countless columns that support the endlessly tall ceilings above. The throne itself is fashioned out of a few similar beasts, a head snaking around either side of the back as if they watch over the High Lords shoulders. Council chambers are as large as the throne room and carved from the same dark rock and pillars fashioned after those entangled beasts with a high domed ceiling. A mammoth table of black glass, shaped like a lightning bolt splits the room into two. Its edges left long and jagged to be razor sharp and capable of injury to those who aren't careful.

    ILLYRIA
Illyria is the northern region of the Night Court. The region of Illyria includes steppes (a large cold area with thick pine tree forest) and mountains plateaus where the multiple War-Camps of Illyrians live and train. The climate is often harsh, especially the higher up the mountain you go. Most Illyrian camps are small settlements, with basic cabins for lodgings. Though some of the most elite warriors or Lords have nicer living units.

    Windhaven: A small war-camp.
Ironcrest: A large war-camp considered a rival of Windhaven. A lot of the Defectors who have gone to serve Mishanti came from this old, archaic War-camp.

  • Day Court Information

    Current High Lord: ZARIA CARNELIAN

    • DAY COURT High Faes inherit WIND or SPELL-CLEAVING as their 'main' power.
Wind Manipulation is the ability to manifest air/wind and use it in many creative forms as the user devises.
Spell-cleaving is the ability to cast, detect, or break curses or spells and destabilize the essence of magic on a person, room or item. (This ability does not work on BARGAINS, on the WALL or any very ancient type of magic - to the likes of which some of Hybern wields).

The Day Court is located toward the Northern end of Prythian. It is bordered to the north by the Night Court and to the south by the Dawn Court. It is one of the hottest regions of Prythian and one of the only ones to be located in a desert region. It is an arid, dry land to live within that boasts as much beauty as it does deadly environments and species. It is primarily a desert land, where water is a treasured resource. There are three main rivers that travel inland from the Eastern and Western Coasts. Two from the West and one from the East. These rivers lead toward the three, lush Oasis pockets of the Day court where the Sunbeam Palace and the major city, Luxaris, were built within.

The Day courts unique environment provides the type of climate that many exotic products can grow within. Some of which are olives, lemons, pomegranates, plums, fine silk and cloths, rich spices, and blood oranges. Lemon orchards, and presumably other plants as well, are watered by the main river that leads into the Oasis. There are also some unique, rare Fae vegetation and crops that grow within the Day court as well. They also produce their own wines, often called "Sun Wines". They are typically red wines with a sweet taste.

its inhabitants are known for their love of beauty and pleasure. A land where polyamory is considered the norm - even for those who have found their Fae mates. The indulge in all forms of pleasure. Whether its food, luxury wines, physical pleasures or of other personal passions like the arts or music.

Above and beyond being known for their love of pleasure, the Day Court in famous for the fact is has a thousand libraries. A point of pride for them to be able to say they have been responsible for archiving Prythian's knowledge of magic for centuries. They are a people who enrich themselves in its immense basin of knowledge and, through that knowledge and learning, have a skill for tinkering and inventing.

Once upon a time, the Day court was the home to the fabled Fae Steeds known as Pegasus's. A slim, swift breed with elegant long necks, beautiful heads and dazzling manes. They are considered to be one of the most beautiful types of equestrienne Fae breeds. Smaller and lightboned that makes them abundant with stamina that allowed them to run or fly for days without tiring. Only needing a few drinks of water to maintain their endurance. Sadly, the Pegasus's are now considered an endangers species and the Day Court is one of the last places known to home a few rare Pegasus the the High Lord of the Day Court stables and takes care of Trying to breed the species and celebrating greatly when a new one is born.

The two main powers of the Day Court is the ability to wield Wind in various, unlimited forms and a type of magic called 'Spell-cleaving'. The ability to cast, detect, or break curses or spells.

    • DAWN COURT High Faes inherit LIGHT or HEALING as their 'main' power.
Light Magic is the ability to wield, bend and manipulate light. Users might be able to create 'laser' like beams with them, form light and sometimes even bend light off their body to 'cloak' themselves and make themselves unseen (This does NOT mask smell).
Healing magic is the ability to mend, tend, set and purge the physical body of injury, illness or poison.

The Dawn court borders the place known as 'The Middle' to its South and the Day Court to it's North. With the Easten and Western edges being surrounded by sea coasts. The land of the Dawn court is made up of wonderful green hills and many, many flowing rivers. Though there are a few mountains and forests within its boundaries, most of its terrain is grassy hills or riverlands. It is a beautiful court, filled with Fae life and species that flourish in the Dawn Court. Their people are a mixture of hardy warriors, peaceful fisherfolk, and devout smallfolk of Lesser Faes.

The Dawn Court lands are rich and fertile and well populated. The plethora of rivers that wind through their expanse are used for the transport and trade of goods. Many people the lesser Fae folk can be seen in skifs and grain barges, poling downstream as mechants float in on small vessels and sail through the rivers. A lot of trade happens on the river edges, where the Fae of the Dawn court haul their grain and other goods to have it sold and sailed off elsewhere in the world.

However, one of the things the Dawn Court is most notable for, is healing. It is a skill and a magical power that can be an 'inherited' power of the High Fae and those with it are sent to special temples to train and manifest their powers in whichever way they choose. Some by touch. Others by singing. Others through the use of energy through the body. Healing can be done in many ways and it is known within all Prythian that if someone is grievously injured - the Court most likely to be able to heal them is the Dawn court.

Another well known area of the Dawn court are the Floating Isles of Pria - home to the Dawn Court Aerial warriors known as Peregryns. The Floating Isles of Pria are floating mountains that hover thousands of feet up in the sky on the North-Eastern edge of the Dawn court boundaries. The Isle are sanctuary, home and training grounds of thee Peregryn soldiers of teh Dawn court. It is lush with tree and plant life, similar to the ecosystem found on the rest of the ground level Dawn court territory. The houses and buildings are all built on various plateaus found on each of the isle creating a multi levelled village. Some of which are connected by bridges and some which aren't connected at all and rely on Peregryn wings or winnowing to get to.

Current High Sibling Rulers: BALOR VENCAITT & CALYXIA VENCAITT (Twins)

Dusk court Arch Demons inherit one of three legacy powers: Possession, Blood & Necrosis as their potential Legacy power.

The Dusk court is the ancient eighth court of Prythian, long since exiled and forgotten. To date, it remains barely a whisper of memory. So far forgotten from Prythian and its people that there is no one left alive to really recall what the Dusk Court fae were even like or why they were scrubbed so thoroughly from Prythian history thousands of years ago. To those alive and living in Prythian now, the Dusk court is little more an Urban legend of a banished court and the wild fae that once used to live among them.

However, to the shock of all Prythian, the Dusk Court has re-surfaced. Claiming territory in the harsh lands of Hybern, where their High Lord and High Lady have recently decided to come out of hiding. Most shocking of all, is the fact that the Dusk Court are not born of High Fae and Lesser Fae like the other Prythian courts - but are Demon born beings. Feared to be vile, evil sentient beings that will destroy Prythians peaceful co-existence among the other courts.

The reality is the Dusk Court - despite being bred of Demons - is not actually either. Neither are they inherently good. The Dusk court is the ultimate court of unpredictability. A place where not evil but moral ambiguity lives. Where the anti-hero thrives and impulsivity reins supreme. Though there is a structure and a hierarchy within the Court itself, a presence of power that sits atop it all as ruler - it is a Court that believes in living in the 'twilight', the morally grey and chaotic neutral existence of life.

A difference between Demon society and Fae society is that the division between Arch Demon and fiend is less prominent. While Arch Demons are considered 'Pure of blood', their society still allows for Fiend family houses to be elevated and raised up in rank to be known as Noble houses, too. So there are 'worker' class Fiends and 'Noble' Class fiends as well. And yes, it is possible that an 'Arch Demon' may do something to be stripped of his noble title and be dropped down to 'working' class as well. It’s less about circumstance of birth and more about status and proving your power. The Dusk Court also adheres more closely to Hybern beliefs when it comes to slaves. Allowing slaves to exist and anyone can be a slave if circumstances make it possible. An Arch Demon stripped of their title might be enslaved by the Lord that took over its house. Or a Fiend may serve a High Ruler as a slave. However, the treatement of Slaves may vary from owner to owner. Some are abused and mistreated but some owners see their slaves as assets when it comes to certain skill sets and are treated with more worth despite being 'owned'.

The Dusk court, physically, exists on the Island of Hybern. A land that is not known for its lush geography but rather its harsh mountain ranges and dry plain lands that offered little in the way of plant life. The Mountain fortress known as Bloodstone Keep is surrounded by large curtain stone walls for protection. Its massive keep is made of stone out on the exterior but also has walls, rooms and hallways carved into the mountain itself to expand its reach into the body of the mountain. It has a very box like structures, with square shaped towers and battlements. At the top of each defensive tower lays giant Dreadwing Aeries with massive wood perches out of them for Dreadwing to perch on and arched doorways that Dreadwing can move in and out of easily to the large interior inner 'nests' where Dreadwings temporarily rest while on guard duty.

The Dusk Courts mounts - Dreadwings - are one of Hyberns largest creatures to exist on the island and roost in the more southern mountain ranges and coniferous forests located at the base of them. The Dreadwing Aeries are the more permanent homes where some bonded Dreadwings choose to make their nests while wild Dreadwings maybe still be found nesting in mountainous Dreadwings territories outside of the Fortresses protection. The Aeries within the fortress are made large and airy. With a lot of open walls caverns carved into the mountains at various levels to offer easy access to the outside, natural world.

For millenia, Dusk court members have traveled back and fourth to Prythian and the human realm by way of magic stone circle portals. These portals require a certain knowledge to use them and disappeared from the world when the Dusk Court originally disappeared. There are a handful of stone circles throughout Prythian that the Dusk court uses to infiltrate their boundaries - unbeknownst to the court territories their on. Currently only Dusk court Demons know how to activate and use the portals. This is a basic blood ritual (Slice the palm, smear the blood) that only Dusk Court Demon will activate. Once the stone circle portal is activated, anyone can use it to travel through. The portal remains open for thirty seconds to a minute max and then closes again. All demon kind, Arch and Fiends, can wield the power of the standing stone circles as portals.

    NEUTRAL TERRITORY

Once the territory the former High Queen Mishanti rules, now the Sacred mountain serves as neutral territory and has been transformed into a molten volcano by the Dusk court Demons and their magic.

What rooms used to be under there mountain are now destroyed mostly by the volcano. The throne room is ashh and ruin. The Night Blooming gardens, bathing chambers and dungeons are all devastated to the point of inaccessibility now. The only accessible rooms 'under the mountain' are now the tunnels that lead to each of the different courts, the grand hall and a few odd bedrooms that have escaped the destruction when the sacred mountain turned volcano.
